Blushing on North Beach!

More of my "Outfits that Make ME Blush"
Yes! Another one of my fab! Fab! Segments of Outfits that make me BLUSH! I swear, everytime I wanna take pics of random ass people I swear I always get the best ones in North Beach. People here dress fairly well with "Their own Personal Style" and that is what I'm looking for. Not always on current trend, but somehow pulled together.
This outfit is an all black outfit. The statement piece, a blue infinity scarf! She has a bit of "Rock Chic" genre going on. Her cropped jacket and cropped boots compliment her mini skirt, so nothing is really out of proportion. And her hair! I dont think that was an accident ;)

INTERESTING... Well I could say more... I think I have my First BARF! The wide horizontal striped coat does nothing for her, just makes her look wide and shapeless. Her black bonnet with the feather... BLEH! I mean I don't mean to be MEAN... Well this Kitty is meant to claw! MeeeeoooW! I mean come on! she looks like a Fuckin tent with a birds nest resting on her head!.. NOT CUTE!

Well I think we all know the answer to why I took a pic of him... HOTT! In person he was such a hottie and yummy!!! Mmmmm!!! His eyes are closed in this pic so you can't really see his true hot, hot, hottness! But DAMN! Still looks good!... Oh yea the outfit! Whoops! well its well fitted and... OH YEA... HE'S HOTT!

She has a very "Chic Indie Look" To her. Long black coat paired with black riding boots... Always a CLASSIC! The thin long scarf adds more attitude and detail to her look. Followed by her aviator trim shades that add more mystery.

This last outfit is MY FAVORITE... so far. This outfit in my opinion defines Personal Style! the conac boots compliment her navy ruffle dress, Her stone blazer softens the intensity of her dress and gray tights/leggings. And to top it all off black sunglasses with a SUPER CUTE shoulder bag! MeeeeOW!
Her outfit "Makes ME Blush!

COCO FOR CHANEL

A couple nights ago my sister and I watched the movie "Coco Before the Chanel" for some reason, and I have no idea why I so did not wanna watch this movie?! I know right?!!?!?! CRAZY!!! As much as I love Chanel... Well worship Chanel the movie didn't really pull me in in the begining. Don't get me wrong, it was touching and sad because she was pretty much abandoned as a child, grew up an orphan then was a taxi performer in a saloon/restaurant. "Taxi Performer" is like a singer/dancer goes to table to table n performs for a fee. Sad and humiliating I know.
But what really pulled me in watching the movie was Coco and her drive to survive. She was dirt poor, her only choice was to live with a rich man that made her entertain his ungrateful rude guests. Throughout her life she was teased for dressing too boyish, not in trend, not in the moment... And like every TRUE fashion designer she just brushed it off shoulder and stuck to her beliefs and her point of view of fashion. She didn't care that she didn't wear things just because every woman owned it. She mocked what was the latest trends and reinvented her own look!... After all, she did come up with THE INFAMOUS "LBD" aka "ZE LITTLE BLACK DRESS" Up to now it is still every womans wardrobe staple. I myself have more than just 1 "LBD" and there is nothing wrong with that! ;)
Coco defined what it means to be "ELEGANT, CLASSY, TIMELESS... Like her fab fab tweed suits!, and of course every French womans trademark RED LIPS! Tre Tre SEXY!!!!  Till this day Coco Chanel is my favorite designer and has inspired me to be the fashionista I am today. Like the great Coco Chanel once said, "In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different." Everytime I hear someone making fun of my outfit, I always remember her quote "Making ME Blush" I LOVE U COCO!!

OUTFITS THAT MAKE ME BLUSH... even MORE

Yet again I'm doing another segment of
                                    "Outfits that Make me Blush"

This guy was way way shy... But he was kind enough to strike a pose for me! lol. I really like this guys style, very laid back yet put together... Something that most guys should try doing ;) his brown man bag balances out the black and white combo he's rockin and his white beanie makes his oufit look complete... JUST LOOK AT THE ENTHUSIASM ON HIS FACE!... lol!

I like, and I dislike her outfit. It's interesting and creative of course, but something about doesn't quite make me blush.. Nor does it make me wanna barf!.. But she is doing something on spot about fashion/personal style/ art thing. She's giving me and others a reaction to what she is wearing. Love the blue dress and accessories, the shade of blue compliments her skintone well. The shoes I'm not too fond of, but for some reason she can rock it!... And of course the Animal print cropped fur coat. The length of the coat makes her look wider than what she really is, if the coat were shorter, or much longer it would've flattered her more so than a somewhat midcropped length... Thing! A little off but I like the outfit, it has "PERSONALITY" and thats something that most people forget about wearing... "WHO THEY ARE... NOT WHAT'S IN THE CURRENT TREND."

If retro was something I wanted to find on the street... Then I found this chick! Love the red lips that match the red flower on her hair and ring on her hand. There is such a thing as too "matchy matchy" but she matches in a subtle way... And HELLO?! The saddle shoes and redlips?!! Very 1950's with a flapper girl twist ;) MEEEOOOW!!! This outfit is great for everyday, redlipstick always makes a woman look put together... Lipstick PERIOD!!!

Paying Attention to Details

Not to long ago my manager sent me to another store to help out with the floorsets. Brand new store, with other coworkers from different stores so of course I had to look good!... Like better then usually, anyway! I arrived and started helping out the other managers setup the store, little did I know they sent a stylist from the Corporate office in New York... Before I talk about my experience I just wanna say that if I were a tall anorexic gay white guy, he would be my number 1 pick!
I learned sooooooo much from him, details are critical... DUH! But he payed EXTRA attention to what works, and what doesn't work. As I was dressing a mannequin, he pointed out that there are different ways to tie a wrap dress, different ways that boyfriend jeans can be worn, and that the more life like and human you dress your mannequins, the more likely your yourself will get more ideas on how to dress not just your client but also yourself. Yet again another DUH! "Presentation is key!"
So what did I learn you ask??? ALWAYS PLAN AND PAY ATTENTION TO DETAILS!!! You may think that you got the right oufit the first couple hundred times! lol! But with great fashion sense also comes other great possibilities like. And always dress for your bodytype! Not the bodytype that goes with the clothes! It may look good on one person, but that doesn't mean its going to look good on you!

Does this boyfriend blazer go well with these red high heeled maryjanes??? YES because your balancing out masculine and feminine, and NO depending on the length and the material of the blazer. With fashion and style you can't always be too perfect, you look too perfect it looks like you spend waaaaaay to much time on your look. You spend less time on your look get ready for the consequences!
I think I've said this before, if so I'll say it again once more and to it "With personal style you have to care and not give a damn at the same time... But alway always PAY ATTENTION TO DETAILS!"
People will then pay attention to your details "Making YOU Blush"

I CAN'T EVEN DRESS MYSELF!

As most of my friends know, I work in retail and I dress women for a living... For now, that is. Most of the women that really need help either just had a baby, lost a significant amount of weight or just need a new change in their wardrobe. But on those few times, I help a woman that needs a job interview outfit.
I style her based on her body type, what colors flatter her the most, and if she wants to keep it classic or classic with a touch of modern to it. I love what I do and I love the aftermath reaction when I'm done with the final look and outfit. The woman leaves happy and confident and I can't help feeling good inside that I made someone happy... Other then myself! lol
But enough about other people... It's "ME" time now. I recently was trying to dress myself for a job interview. "But Kat?! you already have a job!" I'm all "I know! But lemme try to make "MORE" money" cus lord knows retail don't pay too much. As I was looking through my wardrobe I realized something... "I don't have much professional lookin clothing" I was confused how to dress myself "Professionally" I know how to dress other people but "I CAN'T EVEN DRESS MYSELF!" Weird!!! I know right?! My wardrobe isn't as versatile as I thought or I'd like it to be.
I looked through my closet, my dressers, the bins under my bed, my rolling rack... I literally didn't have anything to wear!!... LITERALLY!!! So what did i do you ask???? Well, what did I do??? Shit I forgot myself!!... Oh yes now I remember, I improvised. Found a white collared button down, a black a line high waisted skirt, black blazer that I totally forgot about, and these cute open toe black patent leather pumps with a bow on the front! Woooh! But for some reason, I wasn't happy with the final look... So i did what I always do, slapped on a black wide belt under my bust line.
Though the outfit wasn't the best, I can honestly say I learned from the whole "wardrobe malfunction" experience. I learned you have to be more versatile with your wardrobe. What you put on your back is as much apart of you as you are as a person... In other words your clothes represent who you are as a person. If you wear the same genre of sweaters, pants, shoes just because it is your comfort zone it gets BORING!
When you wear something different, or out of your comfort zone you feel more CONFIDENT and others will read into it and the compliments will roll in... "Makin YOU Blush" ;)

OUTFITS THAT "MAKE ME BLUSH"

I'm doing a segment called "OUTFITS THAT MAKE ME BLUSH... OR BARF!" for now, I'm posting the Blushes! lol! I was in North Beach and I noticed a lot of hipster kids hang out here... hmmmm?

This outfit above in my opinion is fuckin dope as shit!
I loved the way she mixed colors that don't normally
mesh well, but somehow pulled it together. The brown
boots and the black/white stripe gloves... HOTT!

I love the simplicity of this outfit. When you look
closely its a lot more complicated then you think.
The blouse with the roset flower details tied with
just a peek-a-boo white cardigan under a black
coat, dark skinny jeans, and neutral flats...
tre chic! The roset flowers act as an accessory
framing her face. Simplicity never fails to impress!

Cute girl, cute outfit! <3 the way she mixed
different variations of purple and blue.
Then with the final touches she wore white
flats to balance out the color schemes.

I know what your thinking. "Why does this
outfit make me BLUSH?" Ummmmm creativity!...
duhhhh!... I don't know if I myself could pull off
wearing two toned tights, but with her it seems
to work pretty well. I love the way she mixed
yellow and blue. The blue scarf acts as the main
accessory in her outift complimenting the yellow,
black, and white!

Spring Brings the GOOD/BAD Fashion Flings

It’s the beginning of the New Year and I always notice that early January is Nautical season. Don’t get me wrong! I love the Nautical look, from high waisted trouser pants, horizontal strips… on certain body types ;), and everything in navy blue, crisp white, and red. Somewhat of a tomboy chic but not. Then as the month goes into February the classic is kicked to the curb, and new trends emerge… This year, Shoulder pads… Two words four syllabals, “FUCKIN UGLY!”
I mean what the fuck?! Do you really expect women to wear this trend again? It looked bad when it splattered everywhere in the 80’s so what makes you think they’re gonna look good twenty years later? Just because you polished a turd doesn’t make it any better… It still looks like shit! But enough of that turd trend! I’m really excited about “School Girl Chic” Yes! We’re bringing cute and feminine back! A lot of lace and a lot of sheer fabrics paired with boyfriend blazers and over the knee socks. Not really into the over the knee socks, but the whole cute and feminine meets tomboy chic is a trend that I myself am really considering getting into!
Another trend that will soon emerge but highly doubt its popularity is “Future Warrior” think about it like this, if the movies Gladiator and Tron fucked and had a baby that is essentially the trend. Chrome w leather vest and pleating… Ewwwww!!! Maybe it could work? But not if someone goes over the top wearing gladiator sandals, or flip flops with straps around the ankles or as I like to call them “Jesus Sandals.”
Since it is spring, of course we’re bringing back FLORAL! Ooooh! How original! Yes floral patterns are in style once more, however anything that has pattern will be hot this season as well. Abstract, stripes, geometric shapes and all that good shit that doesn’t really interest me. But instead of wearing the patterns on top, guess where we’re gonna wear them? That’s right the bottom! I don’t really know if I want flowers or a Pollack print on my ass. But then again, that’s just me. Paired with shoulder pads and caged open toe booties mmmmm! Hot! Me being sarcastic of course! Anyway movin on!
Playful jumpsuits and sportswear… Jumpsuits?! Can be cute I admit, but unless if you have the right body for it but still not practical to wear. As for Sportswear, fine by me. Just as long as it doesn’t involve girls wearing Jordans… God I hated that shit! Like I said before, “firm believer of looking like a chick.”
